Life is a journey: Gävle

Hahaha, maybe not ;) I don't know what it means!

Anyway, I have a friend in Gävle, I'm going to call him F, he lives there with his girlfriend A. I've met here once before, when they where with his parents on a vacation near where I live. Me and a mutual friend, C, went there ti visit also. It was said that my and C:s visit was to be a surprice. Because C is also a friend to the family. When we finally got there everyone (almost) knew of our arrival anyway.

I got an invitation to come visit. I've got them before, but there has never been a great time. Now I looked at my calender and .... 6.12. (this blog has supposed to be written a looong time ago!) is a holyday in Finland. It was on a friday this (last) year. So what do I do?

I write A on the facebook and ask her what plans they have. I ask her not to tell F, because Iäm planning a surprice visit! :) Said and done! They have no plans, and I decide to go visit! 2 days from my visit F tryes to call me, and then textmessages me "Am I coming over anytime soon?" Oh my god! I'm so nervous! He figured it out! How? Has A said anything? I call him after work and calmly asks him "you tried to call..?" Yes, he had, he has a finnish bankaccount and needs some cash from there. Am I on my way over anytime soon or can I send them to me? I keep my calm and tell him I can send them. No problem! We talk about different ways to send the money safely.

During the next 2 days we have much contact. I forget to ask his adress, for one! Because I already know it...hm....I had asked A already :) The night before my visit he calls me the last time. He tells me that he has a feeling. Okay..? I ask. Yeah, he has a feeling that me and A are planning a surprice for him, that I'm going to come visit him soon. WHAT do one answer to that!!?? Okay, I say, when I'm I going to visit then? I ask. Soon, he tells me....and after a few seconds, this weekend. I try to talk him out of it, but I feel that I did not do much of a good job. I wonder all night what to tell him so that he would not suspect anything....

In the morning I drive to the ferry. And there is THE longest line-up ever! Oh my god! And thenk god I already payed my ticket! Time goes by, and I'm starting to get nervous! Tick-tock-tick-tock.....time for departure comes and goes, and I haven't even checked in yet! F*ck!

I try not to panic, but I can not relax before I drive onboard the ferry. There was a check-in problem....

But I got my lie!! I sit the two hours on the boat, and when I'm in Sweeden and off the ferry I make a call. I call F! I tell him that his feeling was right, I WAS planning a trip and I WAS coming the same day, BUT, there was a problem in the harbour, the line-up was never ending and when I came down to check-in they had sold my ticket. I explaind that I did not want to call him right away, because I was devastated when I watched the ferry drive away without me....

He was chocked and angry, on the ferrycompany of course! He told me exactly how he felt about them! Later he also told me that it was that close for him to call them up and tell them off!

When I was talking to him I was driving, I had to have my GPS on silence so I missed a turn....so I had to drive all these small contry-roads...but many buts later I found the highway and I was on my way to my destination :)

This surprice visit was a little different. This time not even A knew I was comming! I didn't want to risk him reading A to get a hint! He manidged to read her once! He could to it again!

I found my way to Gävle, and to the mall there. It wasn't big, but it was big enough. I had no idea where to find them, because they where out shopping. I decided to wait at a place I knew they where going to come to sooner or later....but then figured....I better call them! I tried to get as much information out of F as possible. I told him I was on the ferry, we had decided that I would take a later ferry, with a different company ;) And I wanted to smalltalk.

I didn't get that much information...so I told him I wanted to ask A a thing. As soon as I got her in the phone I said "I'm sorry I lied, I'm in Gävle! Try to keep F there a moment and I'm trying to find you! If I can't I have to tell him that I'm here" They where in Ikea at the moment. Anyone that has been in an Ikea knows that is is big! And that it is build as a maze! My chances weren't that big.... But I tried! A was so surpriced! She answered "didn't you miss....okay...I'll see you in a couple of hours!" She was so great :) Even though she was surpriced she maniged to keep her cool!!

I ran though all Ikea and came to the counters.....shit! I backtracked, in a hurry of course! And then I saw them :) Or I saw F first. I came at them with my arms out, smiling big! He could not believe his eyes ;) He said nothing! Nothing! Then he stepped aside and let me hug A fist! Then he asked "didn't you miss the boat?" I said no :) I told him that I called him from the sweedish side! He told me that at one pont when we spoke I told him I was out on a walk on a beach close by, so he told me "but you where at nabben!" I told him no I wasn't ;) He had even spoke to my boyfriend! And he told F that he did not know where I was, probably in town! So F told me that he would have a word with my boufriend ;) Haha

At last I told him: THIS is how a surpricevisit is suppose to happen! Not the way when everybody knew about me and C:s arrival!

We had a realy great time! We went for a walk in Gävle, I saw the Gävle christmas goat. It is famous because it burns almost every year..... I have a picture on it also, but it is still in my phone! Then we had coffe, and we visited F:s parents. After that we went to their home.

I also met Vixy, their cat.

This is the balcony, it also serves as storedge for stuff they do not need.

The stuff was brought out before the snow...and then it cama e LOT of snow! This last picture I took because F wanted me to take a picture of him working with shoveling the snow off the balcony using a outdoor chair ;) I don't have people on my blog, so this will have to do!

We had a nice dinner with some wine, and watched a movie. Witch I didn't watch to the end, because I fell to sleep.

The next day I helped A with some laundry. She asked me to, and I said yes! At first I was worried that we would have nothing to talk about. But we had :) I had a really great time in the laundry room!

During the afternoon I had to get going. I was going to meet up with my boyfriend and then we would sleep on a hotel in Stockholm. More of that in another blog!
